Beauty Takes Flight in Houston

While not everyone is a fan of insects, it’s fairly common for even the most entomophobes to enjoy the majesty of the butterfly. They flit around their vibrant wings during the spring and fall seasons, and they’re always a joy to admire. Winter may not bring any large migration of butterflies around, but thankfully our upcoming luxury apartments at Alexan Lower Heights give you the opportunity to marvel as they take flight all year long.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science features a one-of-a-kind exhibit: the Cockrell Butterfly Center. It’s almost a garden in its own right, featuring a beautiful rainforest conservatory, several fun-filled interactive exhibits, and of course hundreds of butterfly species. It’s only four miles away from our luxury apartments, meaning that you can drive there in under fifteen minutes. For $12 an adult, visitors can venture through the Butterfly Center and enjoy its wondrous attractions: the rainforest conservatory brings the heart of the Amazon into Texas, complete with hundreds of stunning butterflies, lush vegetation, and a bubbling waterfall that falls into a scenic pond; while science lovers can explore the Brown Hall of Entomology, where you can study the many intricacies of bugs and arthropods. Those who are more on the daring side can even handle more frightening bugs, including spiders, ticks, beetles, and mantis. Finally, special events cycle throughout the year, giving you a new experience upon every visit.

Let your imagination and curiosity take flight at Alexan Lower Heights. Make a trip to our luxury apartments when we open later this year as well as the Cockrell Butterfly Center for an unforgettable adventure.
